Point of interest

View Point: Gredetsch Valley

On the east side of the Foggenhorn the slopes drop in 1km air distance down to the Gredetsch valley, situated about 1,000 meters beneath. Thanks to the so-called “landscape cents” the municipalities in the UNESCO World Heritage site on the southern slope of the Valais receive a compensation for not using the water for power generation in the valleys. The view from the Foggenhorn to the alp hamlet Strick with the characteristic sheep pens "Färricha " gives an insight into the period of seasonal, multi altitudinal agriculture of our ancestors.
