The impressive forefield of Gamchi glacier is an alpine floodplain of national importance and therefore protected. The meltwater of the glacier transports debris and transforms the area continuously. The first colonization with plants is remarkable. The alpine flora in the area distant from the glacier is exceptional, especially in the mountain spring.
